Student Legal Services of Edmonton is made up of law students from the University of Alberta. Law students provide free legal information to everyone and free legal assistance for some civil, criminal, family, and human rights law matters to low-income Edmontonians. Student Legal Services does not provide legal advice.
The Basics of Going to Criminal Court provides a comprehensive overview on how to attend criminal court and criminal law processes in Alberta. Topics include the different types of court, courtroom etiquette, and the entire criminal process from the moment one is charged to sentencing and diversion programs. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask general questions and be given helpful resources and referrals for navigating the criminal justice system.
Zoom log-in details will be sent to registrants on the day prior to session. Please check the email you register with or contact Shelley.jackson@portagecollege.ca
