What is the impact of creating a more inclusive business? Join other women entrepreneurs to learn more with inclusion expert Sunita Gupta.

About this event

Are you operating a culturally safe workplace for employees, customers, clients and industry partners?

Join Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) consultant Sunita Gupta of I2C Immigration Consulting in Kingston, Ontario for a virtual workshop to learn how you can create a more inclusive business, and the benefits that come with embracing inclusion in the workplace.

This 90-minute workshop will:

• Teach you how to create a more inclusive workplace

• Help you bust common myths about inclusion

• Address popular stereotypes within the business space

• Lead to the creation of a more inclusive business that sets you apart from the competition

This session will also include time for Q&A.

NOTE: A Zoom link to the session will be emailed to attendees at least two days prior to the event.

The WE-CAN Project is committed to providing universal access to all of our events. Please email kerry.ramsay@queensu.ca if you have accessibility requirements as soon as possible as advance notice is necessary to arrange for some accessibility needs.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:

An active member in the Kingston community for the past twenty-five years, Sunita has lived experience across four continents. She has strived towards making Kingston a more diverse and inclusive community both personally and professionally.

The recent pandemic, social movements and globalization have led to a shift that necessitates a more innovative, inclusive and nimble workplace culture. There is an inherent value to diversity and inclusivity in the work environment and leaders must ensure they tap into the potential of diverse talent to remain competitive presently and in the future.

As an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) consultant, Sunita identifies barriers to inclusion in the workplace and helps organizations move forward with a planful approach to drive measurable change in employee engagement, performance and retention.

Sunita is extensively involved as a volunteer in the Kingston community. She is a sub-committee member for the Mayor’s Kingston Economic Recovery Team and the City of Kingston’s EDI committee, along with other Diversity and Inclusion Advisory committees. She is the past President of the India-Canada Association of Kingston and past Board Director for the Tett Centre. Sunita has a certificate in Leadership and Inclusion from Centennial College and a certificate in Ethics & Contemporary Social Issue: Immigration and Integration from St. Paul’s and Ottawa Universities.

Through I2C Immigration Consulting, Sunita and her co-founder, Rasha Fahim, aim to address the workforce shortage via immigration and build the community’s capacity to integrate the newcomers into the workforce.
