Event description
A creative workshop on body image - for the artistic and non-artistic alike!

About this Event

In this 2-hour workshop we will explore our feelings about our bodies through playful, simple, BEGINNER art.

We’ll discuss the history and evolution of current body & beauty ideals, learn how body image affects the way we show up in the world, and cultivate important mental-shifts toward a happier, healthier body image. You don’t need to “be an artist” to do this workshop. The opposite, in fact. Art is not the purpose, it’s just the vehicle we’ll use to get out of our heads and into the feelings we have about our bodies. It’ll be fun! I promise.

To summarize:

  • We will draw (badly!)
  • We will discuss (or not! Up to you...)
  • Jill will talk (probably too much!)
  • We’ll drink tea & coffee, and maybe have a few treats.

Class runs Sunday October 20th, 1:00-3:00pm, all supplies included . Suitable for ages 16+, again - you do NOT need to know how to draw – just be open to trying!

Hosted by Dr. Jillian Murphy, ND.

Jillian Murphy has dedicated the past 8 years to studying the psychology of eating, the relationship between weight and health, Intuitive Eating, and the most in-the-know strategies for exiting the diet cycle and pursuing health outside of diet culture. She is the creator of The Food Freedom/Body Love Method and she works with women and children on feeding, eating, and body image issues from a Health At Every Size (HAES) perspective.
