Description

The Child Remains presented by the Charlottetown Film Society

A special screening of award-winning Nova Scotia filmmaker, Michael Melski's latest feature film, The Child Remains, is planned for Sunday, January 21 at 2 pm at City Cinema. The film was selected as one of five to be presented at the Charlottetown Film Society's Popup Festival celebrating Telefilm Canada's 50th Anniversary.

The story is inspired by the infamous Canadian maternity home whose owners were responsible for the murders of countless children, otherwise known as the “butterbox babies.” The Child Remains was filmed entirely in Nova Scotia and stars PEI's very own actor/director Martha Irving (Outlander) along with Suzanne Clément (Mommy), and Allan Hawko (Love and Savagery). The film's creator, Michael Melski will be on hand to interact with the audience.
