Abstract:
Fireweed Zinc is working to advance their Macmillan Pass SEDEX led-silver-zinc project in Yukon, Canada. Comprising the Tom and Jason zones which were the subject of a 2018 Preliminary Economic Assessment, the company is working to demonstrate the district-scale potential of the project. With two drills currently targeting the high-prospectivity of Boundary Zone and several other under-explored prospective areas, Fireweed continues to add value to the Macmillan Pass project.Looking forward, Fireweed Zinc is now undertaking a strategic planning exercise to map out a project roadmap to development built upon two overriding philosophies. The first is the integration of engagement and consultation as a fundamental component of the design process, and the second is the interlinked co-development of the Pre-Feasibility Study and the Yukon Socioeconomic Assessment Board Project Proposal (Yukon’s equivalent of an environmental impact assessment). In this talk, we will discuss the importance and benefits of developing long-term strategic plans for exploration projects, how such plans are developed, and how Fireweed’s project advancement philosophies will support a holistic design process which aims to minimize late-stage project risk and maximize project opportunities and value.
