About this event
As part of their commitment to a full circular economy by 2050, the Netherlands has set an important interim goal to halve primary resource usage by 2030 (by keeping existing materials in the economy).
This webinar will detail how the Netherlands move towards a circular economy and building construction go hand-in-hand. A key aspect of this process is the registration and documentation of products and materials so that these can be recovered and reused in future projects.
But just as we cannot build a house by ourselves, in a circular system we need many partners to join in the effort to minimize if not eliminate waste and use materials with low(er) environmental impacts. Thus, this webinar will also demonstrate the various roles the government, industry and the general public play in this more sustainable approach to construction.
Our speakers will delve into the basements and climb into the attics to find the common ground as well as differences in both Dutch and Canadian circular construction approaches and best practices.
