The Connected Volunteer - for Volunteer Appreciation Week
Fri, 28 April 2017, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM EDT
Would you like to be more engaged with fellow volunteers and your organization?
Would you like to build a stronger peer-to-peer network?
Overview: The Connected Volunteer is a skills development workshop using the ‘network-mentor model’. This flexible model equips and encourages volunteers to build their networks of mentors and other helpful contacts—within and beyond the organization. This mentor-network model places the volunteer in the driver’s seat, and shifts the dynamic from a dependency model to empowering the volunteer to build their own network of community and support.
In this course volunteers (and employees) will:
•learn how to independently develop their own network of mentors volunteers
•develop a broader perspective of the original mentor-mentee relationship
•have a stronger base to navigate change within the organization
•develop a stronger sense of self and what they have to offer
•create stronger relationships within the organization therefore building a deeper sense of solidarity
•Half day experiential learning workshop
•Presented by certified Canadian Red Cross facilitators
•Maximum 30 participants
