A one-day retreat for teachers wanting to nourish their spirits, relax their minds and renew their passion for teaching and learning.

About this event

August can be a challenging month for teachers as they prepare to go back to the classroom. There's excitement and optimism for the new year ahead and the new students you'll meet.

At the same time, there's planning, prepping and sometimes a feeling of trepidation. How will I make it through the year? Am I up for this? And after 2.5 years of pandemic teaching, what can I really be sure of?

Here's the invitation: Put aside the prepping, planning, and organizing contingency plans, and give yourself a single day to pause, reflect, and nourish your teaching heart. Together we'll engage in quiet reflection, listening, and responding to one another. For inspiration we'll attend to short texts, poetry, music, and images. We'll follow simple guidelines to create an accepting and confidential space.

You could do this on your own, of course. Engaging with a small, trustworthy community of educators will support you to go a little deeper and be ready to step into the new school year with courage, grace and intention.

Registration is limited to 20 participants.

Retreat venue is in an easily accessible location in downtown Toronto.
