Description
THE EMBODIED WOMAN:
Exploring the Intersection of Faith and Feminism
What does it mean to be a woman in a body?
What does it mean to pursue a deep and authentic Christian faith in a woman’s body?
Lived stories, bold wisdom, honest conversations.
We are all born into a body, but when we are born into a female body, it means something particular in our world. Our bodies speak even before we have opened our mouths. We inherit messages and we pass on beliefs. We learn to navigate classrooms, meeting rooms, board rooms and bedrooms.
Join us for a two-day conference and conversation on what it means to be a woman in a body at this time in history. How does our faith meet us in this story of empowerment? Where is Jesus in this conversation?
We will ask questions like:
What does it mean to be a woman in a body?
What does it mean to be a woman in the Body of Christ?
What does it mean to a woman in a minority body? A sick body? A new mom body? An aging body?
What does it mean to be a woman in an objectified body?
What does it mean to be a woman in the body of the world?
