About this Event

Learn to cook for optimal health and vitality. This 4-week course will teach you to cook with a variety of ingredients to prepare healthy and balanced meals based on the healing properties of food.

Featuring four classes, 8 recipes and over 6 hours of live stream instruction, our “Cooking for Vitality - Eating for Optimal Health” cooking course will provide in-depth instructions to help you choose your ingredients, prepare your meals efficiently, and reinvigorate your love of cooking and eating.

Available as a live stream with a follow-up video download, these courses are yours to keep and use on any device. Bring them with you into the kitchen to prepare your next healthy and delicious meal for any occasion. You and your family will love your newfound skills and talents!

What you’ll learn:

  • How to use the healing properties of food to balance the body.
  • The key principles to the macrobiotic approach.
  • How to plan your meal, prepare your meal in steps to have everything ready at the same time, use different cooking techniques.

Course content:

Each week we will explore a different flavour theme and provide 2 body balancing recipes to empower you in the kitchen and beyond.

Week 1 - Springing into vitality.

  • Lemon chicken and mushroom stuffed buckwheat crepes.
  • Brown rice Poké bowl with sauteed bok choy, seared salmon, snow peas and kimchi.

Week 2 - Powering up with bitters!

  • Beef tenderloin with pomegranate molasses sauce and farro pilaf.
  • Beet salad, quinoa and greens.

Week 3 - Coming back to "center" with root vegetables.

  • Sweet potato pancakes, tropical fruit salad, greek yogurt and maple syrup.
  • Lamb and chickpea shepherd's pie topped with butternut squash and potato mash.

Week 4 - Boosting the immune system.

  • Shrimp and black bean tacos, with cilantro, pickled radish and spicy avocado cream.
  • Miso glazed cod with stir-fried jasmine, shiitake mushroom and a daikon and carrot salad.

Your instructors:

Debbie White

Debbie is a Holistic Wellness Practitioner, owner of Blossoming Spirit, and author of the recently published children's book, My Magical Compass. Her specialty is working with the energy of the five elements through various modalities such as Feng Shui, Qigong, Acupressure therapy and Macrobiotic eating habits. Her approach is inspired by connecting to the wisdom of nature and considers the body, mind, and spirit as essential components to achieving a greater sense of wellbeing.

Philip Bernardino

Philip is a flight attendant, teacher and soccer coach. He has more than twenty-five years of experience as a cook working in various restaurants and running his own catering company. He is also the owner of The Hungry Flight Attendant, a passion project that was born out of a deep love for food, travel, and a "joie de vivre" way of living. Philip deeply enjoys helping people discover their power and expressing their own creativity in their own kitchens.
