About this event

As we emerge from the pandemic and navigate a business environment completely disrupted by COVID 19, organizations are transitioning their focus from continuity of operations to growth and international expansion.

Join EY for an interactive discussion, where leaders from EY discuss the evolution of a typical international expansion story within the context of talent and international tax considerations, sharing experiences that highlight what businesses need to consider as they make their first venture outside Canada.

During this session, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in one of the below breakout sessions led by EY subject matter advisors. These breakout rooms will dive into some common challenges, industry trends and insights that influence international expansion.

Topics Covered:

Talent matters -

  • People considerations during opportunity / scoping / business development – Who to send?
  • Business visitor vs work authorization matters – How to send?
  • Immigration compliance and policy during expansion and scaling of operations – for how long?
  • Structuring an international assignment / secondment and related employee experience
  • Potential Impact to your corporate tax profile
  • Timely identification of immigration requirements

International tax matters -

  • Planning your business structure and operations
  • Financing your foreign operations
  • Repatriation of foreign profits
