About Coast Capital Savings Venture Connection
Western Canada's first university business incubator, Coast Capital Savings Venture Connection® is a university-wide incubator, entrepreneurship training program for students and recent alumni. From the initial business idea through to validation, Venture Connection® supports individuals exploring entrepreneurship possibilities. The program offers an early-stage business incubator, mentorship, co-op education terms, competitions, networking opportunities, workshops and seminars. Venture Connection® collaborates with all SFU faculties and departments, including the Beedie School of Business, the Faculty of Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Communication Arts and Technology, Work Integrated Learning and a wide-range of external partners. The program is supported by professional staff, including Mentors-in-Residence with substantial experience in a range of industries.

In this virtual event, a panel of 3 industry professionals will provide insight into the ways they have utilized AI to positively impact their customers and their community. By attending, you will have the opportunity to learn about the applications of AI, the value it can bring, and the potential it has for the future. You will also have the opportunity to ask your own questions to the panel.

About the panelists:
Nipun Goel - Founder & CEO of Artenal
Nipun is the founder and CEO of Artenal, a Vancouver-based start-up focusing on supporting farmers through artificial intelligence and technology. Nipun started coding in Grade 8, and even though he is currently an Undergrad in Business, technology has always been his passion. He started his first UAV company in Grade 11, which he sold to one of India's biggest conglomerates for $20M. He is now in consulting, where he provides companies with automation using AI and Cloud Infrastructure. His business has seen exponential growth in robotics and AI, and it has a diverse team with members that have PhD and Masters degrees from South Korea, Australia, and India.
Hassan Murad - Co-Founder & CEO of Intuitive AI
Hassan is the CEO & Co-Founder of Intuitive AI that focuses on solving the world's massive waste problem. He was driven by the fact that 98% of everything the world generates was dumped into landfills, incineration chambers, developing countries, or oceans. His robotics background includes working on autonomous submarines, farm-mapping drones, and self-driving cars at Tesla which inspired him to develop Oscar, an AI-powered recycling assistant. Hassan has won numerous awards recognizing his leadership in innovation and was featured in Forbes as "Top 5 Entrepreneurs On The Rise in AI". At Intuitive, his team of avengers are the heart and soul of Oscars around the world within malls, universities, airports, office buildings of Top Fortune 500 across Sydney, London, San Francisco, Toronto, Dubai & Vancouver.
Kristen Bystrom - Board Member of Haiven
Kristen is a board member for Haiven, a non-profit organization interested in improving the safety and well-being of victims impacted by intimate partner violence and abuse through technological innovation. Their flagship app is a notification system which allows users to signal an emergency contact when they are in dangerous situations. In addition, they are exploring ways that they can introduce technology to survivors of domestic violence in order to provide sustainable long-term career benefits.
