Description
Join us for an evening of outstanding tacos, local drinks (including our very own 'Vancouver Island Margarita'!), live music and more!
Each year, the Food Eco District (FED) has an annual summer party to raise funds and awareness, and this year we've decided to put on a taco cook-off between local chefs, using produce from grocers deemed too conventionally ‘ugly’ to sell.
We hope to raise awareness about food waste, how it impacts food security here on Vancouver Island and ways we make more of the food we love.
Tickets available online for $35 (includes first drink & food!).
Doors open at 5PM.
The Fort Common is close to many transit routes and is wheelchair accessible.
This is a 19+ event.
All proceeds will go towards maintaining our many edible gardens around town so that we can continue to beautify our streets and inspire more urban agriculture in the city and beyond!
We are so grateful to our sponsors for their support! You can expect to see silent auction items from the following organizations:
- Abeego
- Bike Tours Victoria
- Butterfly Gardens
- designHouse Salon
- Clipper Vacations
- Eagle Wing Tours
- Lifespace Gardens
- Moksana Yoga
- Pizzeria Prima Strada
- Royal BC Museum
- Root Cellar

A huge thank you to Fort Properties Ltd. for the vibrant location; to Big Wheel Burger for all of their support; to Oughtred Coffee & Tea, Phillips Brewing Co., Merridale Cidery & Twist of Fate Craft Cocktails for the incredible local drinks; to Root Cellar and St. Vincent de Paul for providing the produce used in our tacos; and to Capital Iron for their beautiful outdoor furniture.
We are very grateful to be holding this event on the unceded territories of the Lekwungen people, specifically the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations.
