Event description
What Role Does Obesity Play?

About this Event

The incidence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has risen worldwide in parallel with rising rates of obesity. Some estimates suggest that two-thirds of all adults living with obesity develop NAFLD, as do half of the pediatric obesity population. 20% of adults with NAFLD will also go on to develop non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), a serious condition that can lead to liver scarring and cirrhosis.

Join the Obesity Canada GTA Chapter (OC-GTA) for a fascinating look at the correlation between fatty liver and obesity – and how to diagnose and manage patients who develop NAFLD and NASH.
