Cryptocurrency, by Tyvaughn Holness: Learn about the technology taking the world by storm. Discover the implications it will have on the future of finance and other areas within the field of technology.
Group B:
Engineering a Business, by Janelle Hinds: Hear about a McMaster grad experience from finding the motivation to turning her idea into a business. You will be guided through a methodology of starting to figure out your idea and how to lay out a plan. This workshop will also have a hands-on game to get you thinking.
Personal Finance: How to Manage your Money, by Ejaz Nadeem. Break down the complexities of the stock market and learn how, when and where to invest your money. With over 25 years experience in the industry and currently the Vice President of Wealth Management at FirstOntario Credit Union in Hamilton, Ejaz is ready to share his un-paralleled knowledge.
The Hunt will feature the 5 major components:
Resume Critique: Students will meet 1- on-1 with industry professionals who will review their resume and provide feedback, as well as areas of improvement.
Mock Interview: Students will sit down with an interviewer who will pose common behavioural style questions and then provide feedback on their responses.
Networking sessions: Professionals of specific fields will be available for answering questions and describing their experiences to those interested in that area. There will also be booths from McMaster departments and companies providing information about their respective groups.
Coop Experience: A group of students with extensive co-op experience will share their experiences through an interactive Q/A panelist session. They will have an opportunity to provide background information on how they got their various work opportunities, what they learned from those experiences and any advice they have for student seeking these opportunities.
Workshops: There will be workshops to help students who are starting a business or an entrepreneur
The Hunt wil be held in Faculty Club, which can be found behind University Hall
