Farah Saad is an accomplished sales, marketing and business development professional. After earning her Bachelors in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC, she was recruited by PepsiCo into their accelerated sales management program. Farah excelled in the program and expanded her successful career, managing the business growth and development of large-scale corporate food and beverage accounts across Canada’s western region. Farah knows first-hand how the stress and anxiety people feel on a daily basis in the workplace impact our working and personal lives. Farah started to feel unwell, began having many unexpected absences and eventually came to the realization she was burnt-out. This led to a decision in 2016 to invest some of her savings into travelling the world. This one decision changed her life.
Farah found herself studying Eastern wellness practices, training with spiritual healers and attending silent meditation retreats in Myanmar and temples in Bali, Indonesia. She immediately saw how valuable these practices were for coping with stress and anxiety. Inspired by her own personal experience, upon her return to Canada, Farah founded Be Kalm, a mindfulness consulting agency that specializes in integrated wellness, stress and anxiety management in the workplace. Be Kalm offers a full range of practical, results driven services including customized workshops, internal audits and mindfulness implementation plans aimed to help businesses maximize their team’s potential.
Be Kalm’s core values of authenticity, freedom and innovation guide Farah’s work as she embraces mindfulness daily and passionately lives life whole-heartedly. Be Kalm has worked with Simon Fraser University, CFIA, iQmetrix, Work BC, Boys & Girls Clubs of South Coast and Department of Canadian Heritage. Farah’s goal is to support the current shift in North America’s corporate culture through making mindfulness a daily practice in the workplace and community at large.
Caroline Croft is an operations and supply chain executive, an insightful leader who consistently provides innovative solutions to scale productivity and organizational efficiencies. She is known for simplifying complexities of start-up operations and out-sourced supply chains. Her strong market-oriented focus stimulates effective collaboration across a substantial number of relevant stakeholders, building resilient internal and external partnerships. The span of her career includes several operational, consulting and leadership roles in the manufacturing and telecommunication sectors, at times leading professional teams of up to 80 members strong.
Caroline is both a high-school drop-out and a dedicated life-long learner. She overcame a troubled youth, took night school at a local community college as she began a beloved career in supply chain management. At consistent intervals throughout her career she obtained her CPIM and CSCP professional certifications from APICS. After already being promoted to the executive level at TELUS, she decided to obtain a Masters degree in Executive Business Administration from Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC.
Caroline largely attributes her life’s success to her investment in personal growth and empowerment training. For over 20 years she has been practicing mindfulness and conscious energy breathing, a technique she learned that releases stored energy / emotions from our bodies to enable deeper reflection and personal insight. Caroline is extremely encouraged to witness the wide embrace of mindfulness across our corporate cultures. She knows first-hand the personal commitment involved, and also the need for support from others that have already gone down this path before, in order to reap the certain rewards of mindfulness.
Farah and Caroline met at a Young Women in Business conference in Vancouver through mutual friends, and instantly felt like kindred spirits destined for future collaboration of some kind. Amid the chaos of COVID-19 pandemic they created a healing circle as a safe place for people to pause, engage in self reflection and discover a peaceful frame of mind even during these unprecedented and challenging times. This healing circle led to the creation of an 8 week program titled “The Inner Workings of Mindfulness.”
Join Farah and Caroline at an upcoming FREE webinar on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 6PM-7:30PM PST for a guided meditation and to learn more about this upcoming program, purposefully designed to support mindfulness novice and experts alike.
