Providing Training and Practical Tools for OT’s Looking to Work in the Insurance Sector
The insurance sector continues to be a thriving industry and one where competent and knowledgeable Occupational Therapists remain in demand. Yet, many students report leaving their OT degree feeling ill-equipped and even intimidated to work in this sector, and other OT’s are hesitant to enter the industry after working in public positions. At Entwistle Power we believe that apprehension and fear is not necessary, and that new graduates or those looking to enter the sector after a career elsewhere, that are properly trained, mentored and supported can do excellent work in the world of insurance.
So, if you are looking to: consider a new position in insurance, build your skillset in OT, gain skills and knowledge on how to do a great community-based OT insurance-driven assessment, develop treatment plans, write effective reports, and understand the benefits and risks of this sector, this conference is for you!
The insurance sector – what it includes, statistics, funding sources and options, the OT role, and the evolution of this over the last few years.
How to do a thorough in-home assessment. This includes how to assess function thoroughly and practically by analyzing the physical, cognitive emotional and behavioral domains.
How to properly complete an Attendant Care Assessment and Form 1. This will include understanding all areas of the Form, what it means, how it matters, and all the areas it does and does not include.
How to develop and review treatment plans (OCF 18’s) that includes reasonable and necessary services, while remaining client-centered, practical and unbiased.
