About this event

The Issues and Impacts of Misogynoir: Voices of Experience

When: Friday, Nov. 27, 2020

Time: noon - 1p.m.

Where: Zoom Online

Presented by the Centre for Sexual Violence Response, Support & Education, Nneka McGregor, Paula Gowdie-Rose, Kien Saningong Azinwi and Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Inclusion

Misogynoir—the term coined by queer Black feminist Moya Bailey to describe the experiences of prejudice and harassment directed at Black women—is a critical social issue and human rights concern. Spend an hour with the Centre, in partnership with the Centre for Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion, as they invite noted speakers, Nneka, Paula and Azinwi, to share their experiences and challenges addressing misogynoir. After, join us for a presentation and break-out discussion about your role in providing space for Black women to address the issues and impacts of misogynoir.
