Event description

Description

Learn more about Indigenous history! The Blanket Exercise allows participants to gain an understanding about the shared history between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada by walking through pre-contact, treaty-making, colonization and resistance. Everyone will be actively involved as they step onto blankets that represent the land, and into the role of First Nations, Inuit and later Métis peoples.

This activity complements the 2017-18 Queen's Reads novel, The Break. All Queen's community members, whether they have read the book or not, are encouraged to attend the exercise.

Anyone with accessibility concerns should contact student.experience@queensu.ca.
