Event description

Description

Plastic straws are one of the most common pieces of litter collected in shoreline clean-ups around the Great Lakes. Join us for a night of information on what you can do about it and help us kick-off of the "Last Straw" campaign! We will be celebrating the commitment made by a number of Thunder Bay restaurants to reduce or eliminate the use of plastic straws in their locations.

The free evening will feature:

  • local information on plastic pollution in Lake Superior by researcher Kara Cox

  • screening of the short film Straws by the Thunder Bay Environmental Film Network

  • introduction of the Last Straw participating locations by Straws Suck Thunder Bay

  • free social with refreshments

Registration is required. For more information, contact Shannon at 624-2142 or shannon@ecosuperior.org
