Are you a Vancouver textile industry player that is looking to cut costs, improve practices, and create impact through cross-sector cooperation?
Join us in kicking off the first of three hands-on, professionally facilitated Leverage Lab COLLABORATIVE sessions designed to bring together manufacturers, recyclers, legislators and more to tackle the textile industry's most pressing issues.
What is the Leverage Lab COLLABORATIVE?
Three workshops over six months that bring stakeholders together in a professionally facilitated environment to address shared industry challenges.
Challenge we are facing: Textile waste is in the landfill (textiles is the fastest growing waste stream)
Lab Focus/Goal: Action towards textile regulation - reducing textiles to disposal.
Selected stakeholders will be brought together with our co-conveners Metro Vancouver, The City of Vancouver, Frameworq, and Debrand to:
Document perspectives from industry on what policy options are feasible/available
Research possible methods for reuse of diverted material - looking at best practices
Explore what EPR could/would look like from industry perspective
Capture what industry partners are currently doing
Provide feedback on what textile industry players consider as a feasible recycling program with currently available technology (in a letter to the MOE)
Our team will act as a backbone organization by orchestrating three half-day sessions across the span of six months. We will develop the structure, maintain the momentum, and ensure that the right people are at the table.
Between each meeting, there will also be 10 hours of research and development work completed by the Leverage Lab team to maintain forward momentum and enable us to hit the ground running every time we meet.
What will I get?
Three facilitated sessions over a six month span with textiles industry leaders to collaborate on potential solutions to improve waste diversion and recycling in the fashion sector.
A total of 10 hours of communications and research conducted by the Leverage Lab team between meetings to help advance solutions and maintain momentum
Debrief session to determine next steps and potential opportunities to address industry gaps and create policies to support textile recycling.
$67 is the extra cost per Business for two full days of workshops instead of half days.
