Event description

Description

The 127th Battalion was formed in 1916 from the men of York Region. They trained as an infantry unit but by the time they reached France, they had become a new type of force – Railway Troops. Their job was to construct a mobile light railway system to bring troops, ammunition and supplies right up to the front lines.

Chris Morris from the Newmarket Historical Society joins us to share a fascinating talk with personal ties to Richmond Hill and other surrounding communities.

Tickets are free, but please register to reserve your place.
