The Mandt System Training: ARC Programs

About this event
The Mandt System training is a nonviolent crisis intervention course that focuses on building healthy connections and relationships to prevent, de-escalate, and intervene (if necessary) when an individual's behaviour poses immediate harm to themselves or others. Through employing a trauma-focused lens, participants work through Chapters 1-9 of the Mandt System Student Guide.

The dates for the course are:
- Tuesday, March1st, 2022 - 08:45-16:00
- Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022 - 08:45-16:00
- Tuesday, March 8th, 2022 - 08:45-16:00
Chapters 1-3 are the Relational Skills Section. These chapters focus on building healthy relationships, communication, and conflict management skills.
Chapters 4-6 are the Conceptional Skills Section. These chapters focus on trauma-informed services, positive behaviour intervention and support, and regulatory and legal issues.
Chapters 7-9 are the Technical Skills Section. These chapters focus on the technical skills required for assisting and supporting, separating, and restraining.
Each section is held on its own day. ARC employees working in Specialized Care must attend all three sections: Relational, Conceptual, and Technical Skills Sections. ARC employees working in all other programs must attend the Relational and Conceptual Skills Sections.
