Event description

Description

Award-winning duo The Marrieds appear in a benefit concert for Grace United Church's community-used parking lot renovation project Saturday Nov. 3 at 7:30. With their folk/country/pop music called "timeless" and filled with "playful lyrics and sweet harmonies", you'll be charmed by the real-life married duo of Jane Carmichael and Kevin Kennedy and their chemistry with their five-piece band and the audience (who might find themselves part of the entertainment too). From the Snow Song Trilogy that launched them onto CBC Radio to their fourth album "Fire in the Flame", The Marrieds keep delighting audiences with the breadth of their instrumental prowess, vocal variety and clever songwriting. Performing across Canada, The Marrieds have appeared at many premier music festivals, sharing stages with music luminaries such as Ian Thomas, Kathleen Edwards, Bahamas and Lenny Gallant. Recently they recreated Johnny Cash's proposal to June Carter on stage in London at a 50th anniversary show, performing with Johnny's brother Tommy Cash and Johnny's drummer W.S. "Fluke" Holland. Their cover of "Jackson" is a crowd favourite!

Tickets are $25 advance through Eventbrite or at the church Mon-Fri 10 am-1 pm, or $30 cash at the door. There will be an amazing silent auction and a free will offering for refreshments. Heavily used by a wide range of community groups, the parking lot will be one step closer to being safer, larger and improved for all with the proceeds of this concert and silent auction. More information is available at GraceUCconcerts@gmail.com.
