About this event
MistyWest’s inaugural ‘Top 20 Leaders in Intelligent and Connected Devices’ awards (AKA the Misties) are honouring the people who have made the most profound impact when it comes to intelligent and connected devices and are bringing great technological advances to the world.
We assembled a panel of all-star judges from institutions such as Bolt, Microsoft, Core77, Maker Faire and Hardware Club who have received your nominations, deliberated, and selected the Top 20 winners, who will be announced in this virtual ceremony that is free to attend.
What can attendees expect for the Misties Awards?
There will be a 30 minute panel discussion on the impact of hardware on the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. We'll be joined by Adam Benzion of Edge Impulse, Alison Davis Riddell of of Balena, and engineer and developer Rex St. John. This event will be hosted by Leigh Christie, organizer of the Misties and cofounder of MistyWest.
Following the panel will be announcement of the Top 20 winners and the exciting developments in hardware devices that they contributed towards. Attendees can participate in the live chat to connect with the winners and judges.
Among the prize partners for the Misties are Solidworks, Adafruit and Nordic Semiconductor, who are offering up to $15K in cash and $40K in-kind prizes for the Top 20 winners.
Is there an IRL event or awards ceremony?
Not this year. We plan to host (in addition to a virtual awards ceremony) a private in-person event next year, where judges and nominees will have the opportunity to meet and build meaningful connections with others in the industry.
How can I get nominated for the Misties?
We run a public campaign where prospects can nominate themselves (or others) by filling out a form. If you are interested in applying for the next Misties, we recommend joining our mailing list to be notified when applications reopen.
