On March 15th, 2021, CIHR, NSERC, and SSHERC published the new Research Data Management (RDM) policy. This policy requires researchers to deposit research data supporting research outcomes in journal articles and pre-prints in a reputable repository for storage, access, and sometimes for sharing according to RDM best practices and disciplinary norms.
The Laurier Library is hosting a webinar to the discuss what this data deposit requirement means for you. We will address why the requirement exists, the FAIR principles that support data management and stewardship, as well as implications for sensitive data and data collected by, with, or about Indigenous partners. We will introduce our research data repository, Dataverse, and show how it can be used to archive your data for access, reuse, and reproducibility.
You will start the webinar thinking about Tri-Agency policy requirements but finish with resources to help you secure your data legacy.
