Event description
You are cordially invited to participate in the second annual Big Bottle Golf Tournament, presented this year by Riedel

About this Event

The day of golf and friendship, for those who work in and around the Ontario wine industry, will take place Aug. 9 at Rockway Vineyards Golf Course. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to assist migrant workers through the Niagara Migrant Workers Interest Group.

The details:

Date: Friday, August 9, 2019

Where: Rockway Vineyards Golf Club, 3290 Ninth St., St. Catharines, Ontario

Price: $80, which includes golf, cart, prizes, charity donation, two Riedel glasses and buffet dinner

Time: 10:15 a.m. registration (sharp), 10:30 draw for teams, 11:30 a.m. shotgun start

Registration deadline: July 19

The Format:

Register as twosomes (or singles and we can match you up) who will then be paired (via draw) with other twosomes to complete the team. The four-person teams will then play in a team scramble format (everyone tees off, pick your best shot and everyone hits from there and repeat until you hole out). Keep one score and hand in the card when you are done.

We will have various on-course prizes, and Riedel will have stemware and wine tastings conducted on the course by Ex-Sell/Bevsupport’s team of samplers, plus our friends from Triple Bogey beer and wine will be on site, but the main focus of this tournament is to relax and have some fun.

As a bonus, each participant will receive a complimentary set of two Riedel glasses to take home.

Our Charity:

We chose the Niagara Migrant Workers Interest Group as our charity for the Big Bottle Invitational because these workers are so intertwined in the wine industry in Niagara.

It is the group’s mission to improve the lives and working conditions of migrant workers in Niagara through organized community support and resources.

The Niagara Migrant Workers Interest Group (NMWIG) was formed by representatives of not-for-profit community organizations.

Together with their members, it's their mission to address the needs of agricultural migrant workers in the Niagara Region through the provision of services in advocacy, health, safety, and language and education.

What we need from you:

• Register as quickly as possible so we keep your spot open for you.

• It’s called the Big Bottle Invitational for a reason. We are looking for donations of magnums (or bigger) of Niagara (or otherwise) wines to offer as prizes for this fun event. If you can donate, please contact Peter A Rod (peterbodnarrod@gmail.com) and he will co-ordinate collecting bottles prior to the tournament.

Note: This is a fun tournament organized by five guys who simply share a love of the game and a fondness for wine. We are your organizing committee:

John Nadeau (Domaine Queylus & Ex-Sell/Bevsupport) and Jonathan Nadeau (Abacus Data)

Barclay Robinson (Foreign Affair)

Peter Rod (Niagara College)

David Stasiuk (Rockway)

Rick VanSickle (Wines In Niagara)
