About this event
This Concert Series was conceived months ago for the 50th Anniversary of the incredible place we know as the Brackendale Art Gallery. We had all hoped that Thor Froslev, who dreamed the BAG into existence, would have been here for this celebration but that wasn’t to be. His spirit will be with us.
Doors at 7pm
Showtime at 8pm
Celebrating their 25th anniversary year, Canadian musician Tom Landa, is looking back on the legacy of his much-loved folk rock band The Paperboys. Tom Landa was born in Mexico to a Canadian mother of Irish ancestry and a Mexican father, and later moved to Vancouver. For a quarter century, The Paperboys have been touring the world and lighting up stages with their freewheeling blend of influences, from Celtic and bluegrass, to Mexican son jarocho, brass bands, and Canadian roots. They have been called everything from Cajun slamgrass to worldbeat, they’ve received a Juno award (Canadian Grammy), plus two Juno nominations, two West Coast Music Awards And they have released nine albums. The Paperboys are: Tom Landa, Geoffrey Kelly, Kalissa Landa, Brad Gillard, Sam Esecson and Nick La Riviere.

“I learned to play the audience at an early age. As soon as I could play a few chords on guitar my mother would ask me to play whenever company came over. It was a challenge I was up for.”
“Music has the power to take us to another place, another time. Move your heart and change your mind.”
