The Path to Enlightenment: Advice from Atisha's Heart
About this event
We appreciate that mask mandates have been in place for over 2 years, and that many among us are eager to see them lifted.
Most of us are fortunate in that COVID19 is unlikely to pose a serious threat to our health. However, our present membership does include both elderly and immunocompromised individuals who, even though fully vaccinated, remain vulnerable to serious disease.
Accordingly, as a precaution, our volunteers will continue to wear masks for the time being. We kindly ask that you please wear a mask during your visit to the Centre in order to protect those individuals who (visibly or invisibly) are at increased risk. Thank you.

Among the most revered Buddhist Masters of old was Venerable Atisha, the founder of Kadampa Buddhism. Towards the end of his life, in a now famous teaching, Atisha delivered some final advice to his Tibetan disciples. This took the form of a series of pithy exhortations that encapsulated practices he himself had relied upon in his own quest for enlightenment.
Each class in this series, taught by Gen Suma, will focus on verses from this beautiful homily, now widely known as “Advice from Atisha’s Heart”.
Since you cannot tame the minds of others until you have tamed your own, begin by taming your own mind.
Venerable Atisha
Everyone is welcome.
