A Buddhist Program with Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche

Join us in this rare teaching with Tibetan master Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche as he shares the Vajrayana practice of working with a yidam, or deity. Learn how such practice supports a shift from habitual ways of seeing and believing in the world, towards a more pure and accurate perception. Yidam practice is a skillful and expedient path to cut through harmful habits, fixations, and attachments to samsara, thus helping practitioners connect more fully with their innate potential, or buddha nature. Rinpoche will give a general teaching on what it means to engage in such “creation stage” deity practices, as well as explain the meaning of the four empowerments. This teaching session will be followed by an optional White Tara empowerment, connecting the practitioner to Rinpoche’s oral lineage tradition. At this empowerment you will have the opportunity to take refuge.

There will be an opportunity to offer a khata at the empowerment.

There are no prerequisites. This program is open to all but assumes a basic understanding of Buddhist principles.

教学之后，您将可选择接受白度母灌顶，与仁波切的口传传承相联系。

在这个灌顶过程中，您将有机会皈依和献奉哈达。

本活动没有参加先决条件。对所有人开放， 但前提是您对佛教原则有基本的了解。

COVID-19 POLICY

We will follow this policy with the intent to keep Mingyur Rinpoche and all participants safe as he travels the world and we come together for in-person events:

Bring your masks. The proper use of masks is required at all times.

We will be following the BC guidelines and specifically the regulations that Frederic Wood Theatre has in place: with recent changes in guidelines, we will be NOT checking Covid passports at the door.

If you have COVID-19 or are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, if you have any contagious illness at the time of the event, or if you are under self-quarantine orders, please do not come. If you start to feel sick during the event, please inform event organizers immediately and leave the event as promptly as possible.

If you need to cancel because of illness, we will provide a full refund.

Please be advised that even with our best precautions there is still a risk of exposure to COVID-19 at any in-person event.

TRANSLATION

We will be offering simultaneous translation in Mandarin.

A limited number of translation units for simultaneous Chinese translation will be available onsite but you must sign up for these in the registration that follows. Personal FM radio receivers may not work.

Note: On event day, in order to sign out the translation devices, we will ask for a piece of ID that will be given back to you when you return the translation device afterwards.
