Course Overview

When we wish to send a message, we are accustomed to using speech. Verbal language is excellent at detailing specifics; however, our bodies sometimes (and unintentionally) say far more. The world’s most inspirational leaders know this and take great care to align their body language with the story they wish to tell. Doing so, however, requires awareness of posture, gesture, expression and many other simultaneous non-verbal signals that accompany the words that cross our lips. Mastering this art can yield substantial dividends in terms of the influence that you wield.

In this intensive full-day program, we step through presentations of the human body from the face to the feet exploring how each part of the body signals thought, emotion and intent. Special emphasis is placed on developing awareness of body language as well as how to use body language to influence and guide others’ behaviour.

Benefits

A full day of evidence-backed training aligning the latest emotion and social competency theory with the Project Management Institute's Competency Development Framework (PMCDF).

Participants will learn critical leadership skills that improve emotional acuity (the ability to perceive emotions in self and others) as well as emotional tolerance (the ability to manage increasing amounts of change and stress). Emphasis is placed on developing increased attention and being able to make effective decisions based on improved environmental observations.

Lessons are applicable immediately after completing the training.

"The Project Professional's Guide to Reading Body Language" was designed by a certified former senior project manager with graduate level training in psychology.
