Description

In this workshop on March 15 for newcomers and immigrants50+ is presented by Ontario Society of Senior Citizens Organizations (OSSCO). Employment Networking Group (ENG) meeting, members will hear from Christine Allum Ontario Securities Commission Senior Advisor, Investor Engagement, and Stakeholder Partnerships. She delivers the Protect Your Money presentation to help Ontarians make more informed financial decisions.

Through this outreach program you will learn:

Overview of Ontario Securities Commission who they are and what they do

What questions to ask before you invest, and how to work with your advisor

Common types of fraud, how you might be approached, red flags of investment fraud

Where to find unbiased financial information (annuities, reverse mortgages, RRSPs etc).

The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is the provincial regulator for the securities industry and provides investor protection to investors by making and enforcing the rules governing the securities industry in Ontario.
