The Queen's Platinum Jubilee in Old Town Toronto
Date and time
Old Town Toronto marks Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee
About this event
In 2022, Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating an unprecedented anniversary. Her 70th year on the throne is known as the Platinum Jubilee, and on June 2nd, it is being celebrated in every Commonwealth country, including right here in Toronto!
Together with the St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood BIA in Old Town Toronto, we will be marking this historic occasion with an official proclamation by the Town of York Historical Society's Town Crier Hans Bathija, and a tour of St. Lawrence Hall with popular historian Bruce Bell, where he'll share tales of the neighbourhood's rich history, and Toronto's royal connections.
After the tour of St. Lawrence Hall, you are invited to join the staff and volunteers of St. James Cathedral for a special viewing of their latest exhibit, highlighting the many connections between the Crown and the Cathedral.
Please note: This event is free and all are welcome, but we recommend RSVPing by clicking "register" to be alerted about changes or additions to the program. The tour of St. Lawrence Hall will include stairs. We cannot guarantee elevator availability on June 2nd.
