About this event
The Rangers is the brain child of guitarist/lead singer and band leader Scott Sheppard, Their musical stylings range from downtempo ghostly love songs to lively rock ‘n’ roll. The band’s modern experimentation coupled with their vintage sound invokes a nostalgia for an imaginary past. The Rangers have recently released their debut album funded by MusicNL. One recent review from Glide Magazine described the first single as “Your Own Time”, the lo-fi throwback single from The Rangers is an intriguing combination of Roy Orbison, David Bowie, and a pinch of mushrooms that will transport you straight to your favorite David Lynch sequence. The brooding, bass-driven, mid-verse harmonic movement brings just the right amount of darkness to the song to really bring to life the hours/days/months of darkness that can envelop a person after love goes sour." The Strangers are a band based out of Corner Brook, NL. The band is comprised of 5 members - Logan Kelly (vocals/electric guitar), Joseph Michael (lead guitar), Jordan Murley (acoustic guitar), Zach George (bass) and Alister MacDonnell (drums). Despite the mature and developed sound of the group, the members all attended Corner Brook Intermediate School age ranging them from 12 to 14 years old. They started writing music while attending the Gary Bennett Music Wednesday night rock band class lead by Scott Sheppard. The Strangers recorded their debut album at Phil Churchill's (The Once) Gingerbeard House Studios.
