Event description

Description

Arts Council Wood Buffalo is thrilled to present the completed Public Art Commission project artwork, Boreal Forest Stories and Butterfly Effects by Lucie Bause. Albertan artist and former Fort McMurray resident Bause was chosen to create new artwork that is currently installed in the public reception area of The Redpoll Centre in Shell Place. ACWB received funding for the project through the Alberta Foundation of the Arts Public Art Commission grant. The artwork commemorates the opening of the Redpoll Centre, a shared social profit workspace managed by the United Way of Fort McMurray, reflecting the values of collaboration, innovation, creativity, courage, and integrity. Join ACWB and project partners the Alberta Foundation for the Arts and the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo for an unveiling reception on September 29, 2017 at The Redpoll Centre in Shell Place. The event runs 7-9 pm and includes light refreshments, cash bar, and tours of the artwork hosted by the artist. Drop in and kick off Alberta Culture Days in style!
