Event description

Description

The Society for the Ethical Treatment of Kraken's Tea and Ladies' Bazaar is a local Steampunk convention that runs every year on the second weekend of June. This year it is on June 8th, 2019. We are celebrating our fourth year with an "Ode to Poe".

Children under 10 are Free

We are a fun and frivolus event in which we embrace the zest of life, a community spirit, and provide a uniquely Steampunk experience. Our event consists of Carnival Games, Live Fighting Demonstrations, Radio Plays, Circus Performers, A Formal High Society Tea, Time Travel Fun, The Grinder's Underground Steampunk Black Market (Winnipeg's Only Steampunk Focused Market), Extreme Croquet, Mummy Unwrappings, Multicultural elements, Gaming Area, Children's Area, Seminars, Local Authors and Artists, Local History, Historic and Fantastical Costuming, Makers' Workshops, Inventors, Zeppelin Races, Mad Scientist Photo Booth, Olde Tyme Candy Shoppe, Costume Contest, and much more. We are also hoping to host the Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and have them come and impress our guests with an educational booth with live Owls.
