Event description

Description

Yes! Summer is for BBQ's, beachballs, beaches and possibly bikinis. It may, however, be a great time to become proficient on Instagram in two easy sessions. Setting up Instagram is a little trickier than other social networks, and because it is nothing like Facebook, two sessions will have you up and running with all basic understanding in place.

The Program for August - There will be two sessions as follows. These two sessions are meant to be purchased as a combination. One session or another can not be purchased separately.

Thursday, August 16 at The Hub at Cowichan Station, at 8:30 a.m. -

Only 5 people may buy the two sessions for August 16 and August 23rd 2018

The first session on Thursday, August 16 at 8:30 a.m. is two hours long and strictly devoted to setting up an appropriate Instagram account for your requirements. We will start with uploading the Instagram APP on your smartphone and then discuss best practises for completing the Profile. We will cover setting up the accounts - either personal or business and what is the difference between them. Then how to connect them so you can move from one account to another easily, how to connect with Facebook and which Facebook account to connect with which Insstagram account. There will be some discussion about Instagram strengths and the tremendous value of a Facebook/Instagram collaboration. Please note - if you already have either a personal or business Instagram account, this session will ensure the linking to Facebook and/or Twitter are correct and that the Profiles have the correct content.

Thursday, August 23rd at The Hub at Cowichan Station at 4:00 p.m.

The second session of the two-part seriess on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 is two hours long and addresses the basic operation of Instagram including how to take a picture or upload a picture from another source, the various and important components that should be in every Instagram post, all about #hashtags, the various ways to build a following, the different ways to comment, like, and save posts on Instagram, and how to use the various filters, edit an image and more.

Both sessions are hands on and are designed to get started on Instagram which was developed only for mobile devices. You can do a few things on an Instagram account on a laptop or desktop, but only a few things. So, please bring your tablet or smartphone and most preferably your smartphone. You will get the best results from Instagram using a smart phone.

These sessions will restrict attendees to five participants and again, every student must purchase both sessions. It isn't possible to purchase just one session. As always, completely at your convenience in terms of times and dates, one on one customized sessions are available at your office or the offices of Social Media is Not Simple for $200.00 to cover the two sessions.

This session won't be helpful to an experienced Instagram user who has already established a personal account or a professional (business ) account or both and post at least once to twice a day. This is for the many folks who have asked for a straightforward and basis training session along with some overview on why Instagram should be considered for most businesses.

We are working in a location with excellent WIFI and the opportunity for everyone to have a table in front of them. This session will only allow for 5 students. The location is THE HUB at Cowichan Station, 2375 Koksilah Road, Duncan, BC. V9L 6M5

Please note that THE HUB has two buildings and many rooms. To find the correct building and our room, when looking at The Hub from Koksilah Road, please choose the building to the right. There will be a sign.

Please bring your smartphone, whether it's in iPhone or Android. Instagram is a SmartPhone based social network that needs an app to operate effectively.
