Description

To stay competitive today, companies must have an online platform from which to sell their products. When selling products online however, a new challenge arises.

How do we design for user's interactions with our products when the customer can't experience the product first-hand? How do we create an experience which successfully translates our brand-image and engages our audience? How can our design decisions beat the competition and bring customers back time and again?

THE EVENT

In 2016, global eCommerce retail sales reached around £1.51 trillion, accounting for 8.7% of total retail spending worldwide.

Today, you would be hard done to find a company whose brick-and-mortar store isn't accompanied by an online platform. Competition is fierce in the ever-growing E-Commerce market and with 70% of E-Commerce traffic coming from smartphones, companies must have an omni-cannel approach to their design strategy.

No matter the industry, getting what you need has never been easier!

On the 26th of September, we will be discussing the simple design decisions which promote a personalised e-shopping experience, from a great first impression to buying and receiving a product. We will be exploring how we gain buy-in from the wider business and discussing the processes we can implement to deliver a satisfied customer who returns time and again

With space for up to 250, we would like to invite you straight from work for 6.30pm, to unwind with other UX and creative professionals at Huckletree's amazing space in Shoreditch. We will be networking from 6.30pm and talks will begin at 7.00pm sharp, as we have a lot of talks. How graze builds relationships with it's customers

Razel Villanueva - UX/Product Designer @ Graze

What makes a customer keep coming back to your site? Personalising the experience. How do you make it more personal? By listening to your customers.

This talk will cover how Graze gets their customers to try the products, love the products and buy more of it. Tailoring the service based on the conversations with their customers and listening to their needs.

Razel joined Graze in 2014 and has worked on the end to end design process and strategy for the digital products: subscription, shop and blog. Delivering projects from improving subscription onboarding to re-designing the shop checkout using agile methodologies.

She studied Digital Design in Brunel University. Since then her interests have evolved from solving problems for her own satisfaction into others satisfaction. Thus, stumbling into the world of user experience.

Delivering a better customer experience through a user centered design culture

How a UX team of one came to grow, influence company culture and let its voice be heard in a large organization.

Getting UX buy-in from the wider business is essential for creating a user centred design environment in a well-established company. While acknowledging and serving business needs, we must also connect the business to the needs of our customers. We will talk about how we are getting there and how that is delivering a better customer experience.

With a background in Psychology and Design, Michael has developed a career in User Experience design, where he currently fulfills the role of UX Design Manager.

He joined Kurt Geiger in 2012, after previously having worked at kids fashion ecommerce company AlexandAlexa.com and Penguin publishing house.

Michael’s been practicing end to end UX design at Kurt Geiger having developed products such as; the Multichannel app, CRM, CMS, Customer Services app, and own brand websites.

Ana joined Kurt Geiger in 2017 and has been working on the omnichannel product team as UX Designer. She has been working on improving the user experience by using a mobile first approach with data driven design.

Her previous experience has been with different fashion start-ups where she was involved in developing an ERP system and a marketplace.

A User Experience, Optimisation & Personalisation specialist with many years of experience helping retailers and other ecommerce businesses continually improve the customer experience, increase conversion rates and revenues. Leading a talented team at Biglight and working with fantastic clients such as Asda George, Aurum, Boden, Eurostar, Furniture Village, Halfords, The North Face, Timberland and Vans.
