Event description
LGBTQ2S+ Wellness- Blackout Poetry

About this Event

This Week's Wellness Activity!

Join us for this month's LGBTQ2S+ Wellness session focused on creating blackout poetry. Oxford County Library will be joining youth and staff facilitators to create some blackout poetry and share about their youth programming (including ways to share your poetry!).

Special thank you to St. Thomas Public Library and Oxford County Library for your partnership in offering books to youth who may need them to create their blackout poetry.

About the Hub

Created by local youth in partnership with Wellkin, the virtual Youth Hub (The Hub) is a space dedicated to youth wellness. It's a place to connect with peers and learn about resources and supports in your community.

What you can expect

  • A virtual "drop in" space to connect with other youth and supportive staff through Zoom.
  • Access to staff who can provide information on supports and resources.
  • A structured wellness activity (often youth-led) that you can participate in.

Who can access

Youth aged 13 to 25 years living in Oxford and Elgin counties

Gift card as a thank you!

As a thank you for attending, we'll be offering youth an e-gift card.

When and where you can access

Every Thursday!

Time: 3:30 to 4:30 pm

Once you register, you will receive an email with the details required to join The Hub via the Zoom platform. This email doesn't come right away- but you'll get it as soon as possible. Should you have any questions about The Hub, please contact us at thehub@wellkin.ca or 226-232-5995.

The Hub is made possible through the Ontario Trillium Foundation's Resilient Communities Fund. The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations. OTF awarded $108 million to 629 projects last year to build healthy and vibrant communities in Ontario.
