The World of Dreams Sh Waleed Basyouni
Description
Towards the end of his life as our beloved Prophet Mohammed (s) fell very sick, he witnessed Abu Bakr As-Siddique (ra) leading the Salah. Realizing that his life was coming to an end and that there would be no one left after him to bring glad tidings to the people and warn them of a grave punishment, he said, "O people! The Prophecy is about to end.... and there is not much left of Prophecy except from good dreams. The Muslim will see it or it will be seen on his behalf.."
And so we dive in to the World of Dreams... Dreams that can be fascinating, insightful, inspiring, terrifying or sometimes just plain weird..
Are they but frivolous manifestations which carry no meaning or insightful premonitions predicting the future of our lives and those of our close ones? Let's face it- we all dream - and our dreams have peaked our curiosities far too many often!
From as far back as the king of Egypt who sought the help of Yusuf (as) for interpreting his dream, these enigmatic, vivid scenes that occur without our control in our state of sleep have long inspired generations and generations of men.
Our scholars have told us that when one sleeps, his soul is taken from his body and special angels are assigned to show the souls certain images which than become our dreams...
In this intriguing and informative lecture, Sheikh Waleed Basyouni will take us on a journey through the World of Dreams from an Islamic perspective.
How do we know if a dream is good or bad? What is the best of dream? Can Allah be seen in a dream? Can we derive Islamic rulings from our dreams? What are some inspirational dream stories in Islam?
