Grade 2-3 Basic Skills and Problem Solving I

Morning Session by Spirit of Math Schools Inc

Basic Skills & Problem Solving I

This program is primarily intended for students entering grades 2 and 3 who want a “refresher” before school starts. It is also ideal for new students who would like to experience the Spirit of Math classroom, or establish some skills before starting the school-year evening classes. Content includes addition and multiplication drills, number theory topics such as regrouping and mental math, and problem solving topics such as consecutive number problems, counting shapes, date problems, cuts and pieces, and integers.

Afternoon Session by Knowledge Makes Sense

 Making Cents

This program teaches your child the link between money and work, saving and spending, sharing and giving back.  In Level 1, your child will “earn” income through fun career role-playing activities, such as building Walter’s FUNtastic City using Lego.  Then, they learn how to deposit, save, and earn interest in their own pretend bank account at our unique Walter’s FUNtastic Bank™.  Our unique and fun game, Price is Almost Right™, will help your child relate values – $1, $10, $100 – to the real world.  Just as importantly, your child learn about giving back through volunteerism. In addition to your child receiving a KMCents Certificate upon completion of this program, special memos are sent to you, the Chief Financial Parent, with tips on how to enhance the money lessons at home. Please visit www.knowledgemakescents.com for more information.
