Practical tools for mental resilience
As we collectively move into a fall of uncertainty with potentially life-changing challenges, it has become ever more important to stay strong, resilient and positive.
When the external world presents such uncertainty, we can benefit greatly from the inner wisdom that the Buddhist path has to offer. In this series, we explore the way to remedy the problems we might experience by connecting with our inner wealth and wisdom. In this way, we can continue to be well and happy and of benefit to others, regardless of our outer circumstances.
October 1: Tapping into unlimited power In this class, we will get to know our own mind. We will explore its nature and its function. And above all we will learn about its power and potential.
Meditation: What is the mind?
October 8: A remedy for feelings of loneliness and isolation
We will address our instinctive island mentality. We will prove it wrong and replace it with the truth of deep connectedness.
Meditation: Cherishing others
October 15: Developing inner armour
When things go wrong in our lives, we tend to regard the situation itself as the problem. In truth, it is our own unpleasant feelings that cause our suffering. Tonight, we will learn how to deal with those feelings.
Meditation: Patient acceptance
October 22: A way to create happiness
Learning about karma, the law of cause and effect, enables us to understand our present experience. Understanding the law of karma empowers us to create a future filled with happiness.
Meditation: Karma
October 29: Experiencing powerful support
In this class, we will explore the strength the Buddhist path can offer us. We will learn about the unchanging support of the Three Jewels: Buddha, Dharma and Sangha
Meditation: Going for refuge
This class uses Prayers for Meditation.
Please note: This online event is available for people who would have intended to come in person under normal circumstances.
