Join David A. Robertson as he talks storytelling with three of his graphic novelist peers. Nick Craine will reminisce about Hard Core Logo: Portrait of A Thousand Punks, the twentieth anniversary reissue of his comic based on the feature film by Bruce McDonald and the novel by Michael Turner. Sam Hester will show and discuss her work from RESIST! Volume 2! the free political comic book created after the November 2016 USA election. Ben Clanton presents Super Narwhal And Jelly Jolt, about an irresistible due who find their inner superheroes in three new illustrated adventures.

Ben Clanton

Ben Clanton is an author and illustrator whose picture books include It Came in the Mail, Something Extraordinary, Rex Wrecks It!, Mo’s Mustache, and Vote for Me! He is the illustrator of the Jasper John Dooley series by Caroline Adderson as well as of Max Has a Fish by Wiley Blevins. A story-scribbler, picture-squiggler, book aficionado, child advocate, dragon-tamer (someday), and avid sock-wearer, he lives with his wife and son in Tacoma, Washington. Read more...

Nick Craine

Nick Craine is a painter, animation artist, illustrator and musician. His illustrations have appeared in The Atlantic, The New York Times, and the Washington Post. Portrait of a Thousand Punks: Hard Core Logo, originally published in 1997, was his second film adaptation. His first, of Bruce McDonald’s Dance Me Outside, was highly acclaimed by both critics and illustrators. He lives in Guelph, Ontario. Read more...
