Join women across North America at the Toronto launch of Time’s Up/Advertising (#TimesUpAdvertisingCA).


Women who work in advertising and marketing communications agencies are invited to bring their voices to this open forum. Come & discuss the Time’s Up movement, how it impacts our industry & what we can do about it.


The Toronto event (#TimesUpAdvertisingCA), coordinated with Time’s Up/Advertising forums in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles & San Francisco, is free & open to all women who work in advertising & marketing communications.


Time’s Up/Advertising launched on March 12, 2018, with the mission “to drive new policies, practices, decisions & tangible actions that result in more balanced, diverse & accountable leadership; address workplace discrimination, harassment & abuse; & creative equitable & safe cultures within our agencies.” Time’s Up/Advertising was inspired by Time's Up, a global force for business reform across industry categories.


How & why the ICA is involved

The ICA is supporting the Canadian signatories of the Time’s Up/Advertising mission, as well as other leading women, by hosting its inaugural event & offering the long-term infrastructure & resources needed to help women in Canadian agencies affect meaningful change.

Signatories from ICA member agencies include: Annick Désy, chief talent officer, Sid Lee, Elana Gorbatyuk, SVP of strategy at Sid Lee; Judy John, CEO of Leo Burnett Canada & CCO of Leo Burnett North America; Melanie Johnston, president of DDB Toronto; Patty Jones, managing director of DDB Vancouver; Helene Leggatt, president of DDB Edmonton; Jill Nykoliation, CEO of Juniper Park\TBWA; & Helen Pak, president & CCO of Grey Canada.

The ICA’s support of the Time’s Up/Advertising movement in Canada is a part of its revitalization & evolved commitment to positively amplify, protect, & transform the agency sector of the marketing communications industry for its membership.
