Manitoba Association for Computing Educators (ManACE) is pleased to announce our very first 'TIN Week in Manitoba'! 2014 marks the first time we've offered three great Technology Information Nights (TINs) in one week leading up to the 2014 BYTE Conference in Neepawa.
All three TIN Week in Manitoba events are free to attend and everyone is welcome to join us! Not only will you get to see three great presentations in Brandon, Winnipeg and/or Neepawa, but you'll also get pizza & salad, a chance to network with educators from several Manitoba school divisions and a chance to win some prizes!
We've got a fantastic line-up for TIN Week in Manitoba's Brandon stop:
Lights, Camera, Action!
Facilitated by Shawn Kleebaum & Sheldon Wettig
Come out and see how easy it is to use iMovie and how some teachers and students in Turtle Mountain School Division have used it in their classrooms. iMovie is available for both Mac computers and iPads and this session will demonstrate how easy it can be for you and your students to produce your own videos.
Facilitated by Tyler Letkeman
We all know that teachers and students have growing access to a wide range of digital resources to support teaching and learning. Our notion of teaching from a 'textbook' is changing as the idea of a textbook continues to evolve. This session will highlight a website that Tyler is developing to use a multimedia textbook for teaching the elements of fiction.
Shining a Light on SAMR
Facilitated by Mike Nantais & Reg Reimer
In this session, Reg & Mike will present an overview of the popular SAMR model of technology integration. They will also provide examples of various applications that can help support various steps of the SAMR ladder.
