About this event

With great excitement, we invite you to join us for the 25th Thought Leadership Gathering held by SVA Bright Spots Schools Connection: Celebrating Accomplishments to Build Future Actions. Our final gathering of 2019 will be held at the Novotel Melbourne on Collins.

This event is designed to be dynamic; a rich sharing of insights and learnings of The Connection schools’ journeys and a celebration of their accomplishments.

The exciting agenda on day one will include a variety of engaging activities, such as opportunities for schools to share their reflections and learning from their three-year Project Action Plan achievements, a celebratory dinner and presentation acknowledging each school, and a celebration and sharing of the work achieved by five Connection schools with support from Teachers Mutual Bank in primary school careers education through the Sparking STEM Horizons Project.

Day two promises to be a rich, enjoyable learning experience, with international expert Professor Alan Daly from the University of California leading a dynamic day of learning and challenge with a provocative edge on network theory and education change. He will demonstrate new, practical insights and evidence on the importance of collaborative networking in educational change, how we can build new network opportunities and how networks provide important leverage for leadership growth and support. This will be an empowering session for participants to think about future actions as their work continues to grow and moves forward. Alan’s dynamic energetic presentation style promises to ensure an engaging yet challenging stretch learning experience that you won’t want to miss.

Day three is always optional, this event we encourage participants to arrange visits to local Connection schools in Victoria that align to individual and particularly focussed needs. If you are looking for suggestions and introductions to schools, please reach out to the Connection team for support and assistance.
