Our Thursday Night Supper and Song Evening this year will be held at the Beautiful Esplanade Arts and Heritage Center and will be on Thursday, January 26th. Dinner will be held in the studio theatre with a live performance during your meal, but once dinner is finished is when the main event begins.....This year we have partnered with The Esplanade to bring the New North Collective to you. The expansive imagery of northern Canada comes to light in songs co-written by a diverse group of songwriters and performed by a seven piece ensemble under the artistic direction of Yukon artist Diyet.
Friday night is reserved for our opening ceremonies at The Historic Medalta Potteries with the hanging of the Tongue on the Post as well as an open stage Singer Songwriter Night Hosted by Andrew Scott, featuring both local musicians as well as some of the touring artists just wanting in on the fun. This event is simply donation based and is always alot of fun. Bring the whole family or that neighbor that has never seen or heard folk music.
Saturday January 28th is the BIG DAY......the daytime events at Medalta include 4 stages running performances at the same time throughout the day, resulting in roughly 16 concerts for less than the price of 1!!!
