The Studio
Nestled away on Algonquin Island, our studio space is an open air platform surrounded by lush gardens and trees. Located minutes away from Ward's Island Beach, rolling meadows, and gentle woods it is the perfect environment to reconnect with nature.
Your Teacher
David Taller is a dedicated yoga and meditation instructor, artist, studying counselling psychology, and founder of the Toronto Island Yoga Centre. He has been practising yoga for 10 years and teaching Vinyasa and Hatha classes with devotion and compassion for 7 years. Recently he has begun to incorporate elements of Qi Gong and the Chakra system into his practice. His students appreciate clear guidance through all poses, and concise instruction through the philosophy of Yoga served with a bit of refreshing humour.

How can I get to Ward's Island?
All you need to do is arrive at Jack Layton Ferry Terminal by 9:45AM the morning of your scheduled retreat. Attendance at this retreat covers the cost of your ferry ticket and guarantees your entry to Wards Island.
Who should come?
Whether you want to begin, renew, or continue your practice, this retreat is appropriate for anyone who is curious about yoga and meditation or already loves the practice. All bodies are welcome!
What food is served?
All of our meals and snacks will be vegetarian food sourced from the surrounding gardens, or through an ethical supply chain. Special accommodations (vegan, gluten free, dairy free, egg free) can be made with advanced notice.
What should I bring?
Everything you find useful during your usual yoga practice or exploring the island is advised, such as:

•Sun protection
•insect repellant
•water bottle
•beach towel
•walking shoes
•your bike
•good intentions
What if it rains?
A very close eye is kept on the sky and the radar for 48 hours preceding this retreat. If rain seems inevitable, the retreat will be cancelled and you will be entitled to come back to another retreat in 2023, or a refund.
