Special Breakfast with Devon Clunis
BUILDING TRUST - LIFE VALUES WITH A FOCUS ON TRUST
Integrating business, life and faith
Devon Clunis was born in Harmony Vale, Jamaica and immigrated to Winnipeg in 1975 at age 11. Growing up in a diverse and sometimes challenging environment, he witnessed firsthand the social challenges faced by many groups in society. It was his desire to impact social change that led him to join the Winnipeg Police Service in 1987.
Recently retired, Chief Clunis was appointed Winnipeg’s 17th Chief of Police in 2012. He ushered in an era of Crime Prevention through Social Development, believing that providing cross cultural opportunities for social and economic equity will create a safer, healthier Winnipeg.
Trust is fundamental to all relationships both personal and professional, including within organizations and their interface with clients, customers, vendors, and community. Chief Clunis’ leadership philosophy of “people first” and his desire to create a healthy work environment has earned him the respect and trust of those he is privileged to lead.
Chief Clunis is married to his wife Pearlene and has two daughters, Taylene 28 and Atira 22.
