Description
Join us for the second annual Toronto Music Entrepreneurship Exchange – an afternoon of networking, learning, and dialogue on digital literacy, intelligent business planning in music, and career options in the music and arts sector.
Hosted by the Faculty of Music, Career Exploration and Education, and Entrepreneurship at UofT, the event is an opportunity to:
- Network with music and arts organizations, funders and granting agencies, programmers and promoters, and independent musicians
- Engage in panel discussions on current and emerging industry trends
- Seek career advice from U of T faculty, students, alumni and industry partners
- Discover resources and pathways for both research and entrepreneurship opportunities
The event is free and open to the public.

12:30pm-2pm: Panel 1 - Music in Our Communities
Moderator: Tyler Greenleaf
This panel features UofT researchers, students, alumni, and civic leaders that have dedicated their careers to making music accessible to all audiences. Panelists will share their stories from and experiences in leadership positions in community engaged music.

2:30pm-4pm: Panel 2 - The Nighttime Economy and Its Alternatives
Moderator: Prof Catherine Moore
This panel highlights new initiatives that bring professional quality music performance to alternative spaces outside the rehearsal hall and bars. Discussion topics include business practices, marketing strategies, and emerging career opportunitiesfor musicians looking to expand their audience and experience of music in the city.
